Senior Web Developer (Remote)

Job Overview: A1FED is seeking a Senior Web Developer to support the development and optimization of web-based applications as part of the Enterprise Architecture (EA) services for a Federal Agency. The Senior Web Developer will play a key role in building, maintaining, and enhancing web applications that align with the agency’s mission and strategic goals. The developer will work closely with the enterprise architecture team to ensure that web solutions are scalable, secure, and integrated with the broader IT ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and maintain web-based applications that are integrated into the Federal Agency’s enterprise architecture.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects and other development teams to ensure web applications align with the agency’s IT infrastructure and business needs.
• Implement responsive, user-friendly, and accessible web applications that comply with federal accessibility standards such as Section 508.
• Ensure that web applications are secure and comply with federal security regulations, including NIST SP 800-53 and FISMA.
• Optimize web applications for performance, scalability, and security across cloud-based platforms such as AWS and Microsoft Azure.
• Design and maintain APIs and web services to ensure seamless integration between web applications and other systems within the agency’s IT architecture.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure web applications are user-centric and meet user experience goals.
• Maintain and enhance legacy web applications, supporting modernization efforts as part of the agency’s IT transformation strategy.
• Ensure proper version control and configuration management for all web development projects using tools like Git, GitHub, or Bitbucket.
• Participate in code reviews, ensuring that coding standards and best practices are followed.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or 8+ years of relevant experience).
• 5-8 years of experience in web development, including front-end and back-end technologies.
• Proficiency in web development technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React, Angular, and Vue.js.
• Experience with back-end development technologies such as Node.js, Python, PHP, or Java.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms, particularly AWS and Microsoft Azure, and their role in web application development.
• Experience with web security best practices and compliance with federal security standards (NIST SP 800-53, FISMA).
• Familiarity with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or SQL Server.
• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications in web development technologies or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer).
• Experience working with federal agencies or in a government contracting environment.
• Familiarity with federal accessibility standards, including Section 508 compliance.
