Senior Wind Project Development Manager (Remote)

Key responsibilities for this role will include (but not limited to):

• Take charge of and oversee development activities from the initial stages to achieving the Notice to Proceed (NTP), collaborating with internal teams across various areas such as site acquisition, real estate, and title, permitting, interconnection, engineering, survey, environmental, offtake, and policy.

• Candidates with a proven track record of leading projects to NTP in the later stages are highly sought after.

• Prioritize, coordinate, review, and monitor crucial development deliverables in collaboration with internal teams and external consultants specializing in legal, zoning, environmental, interconnection, and engineering aspects.

• Manage and provide updates on project data concerning budget, schedule, and deliverables.

• Ensure timely and cost-effective achievement of development milestones to successfully advance projects to the financing and construction phases.

• Gather market intelligence and cultivate relationships with government agencies, utilities, and other stakeholders in the market to enhance project development and permitting processes.

• Prepare and submit applications for land use permits, implement permitting strategies, oversee consultants, and actively participate in permitting meetings and hearings.

• Review and ensure compliance with project contracts, including leases, interconnection agreements, and power purchase agreements.

• Foster strategic partnerships with development, finance, and engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) partners.

• Regularly travel to project sites and other offices.

• Assist in and lead the development of strategies and refining processes for the market.

• Propose and manage development budgets.

• Contribute to the origination of offtake agreements for advancing assets within the market.

Required and desired skillsets, experience and qualifications for this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as business/finance, urban/regional planning, civil/electrical/power systems engineering, landscape architecture/architectural sciences, or environmental sciences, completed within four years.

• Possessing a Master’s degree in energy, sustainability, urban planning, engineering, or business-related disciplines would be advantageous.

• At least 3-5 years of experience in developing renewable energy projects, specifically wind.

• Proficiency in project management, budgeting, organization, and analytical problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create Excel trackers, and use Word and PowerPoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
