Key Responsibilities

As the UAV Remote Sensing Project Manager, you will take charge of the comprehensive planning, development, and execution of UAV projects, ensuring their successful and efficient completion. Your role will involve close collaboration with technical and professional teams, managing the development, implementation, and logistical aspects of our UAV fleet and pilot operations, as well as overseeing data acquisition and processing assignments.

Your Primary Responsibilities Will Encompass

• Project Oversight: Direct the planning, scheduling, and execution of several UAV projects, ensuring all milestones are achieved.
• Team Leadership: Guide and mentor a team of UAV technicians and specialists, coordinating tasks and maintaining work quality.
• Contract Negotiation: Assist in defining project scope and play an active role in contract negotiations.
• Budget Management: Create and oversee project budgets, implementing necessary corrective actions to ensure projects remain on course.
• Data Management: Collaborate with staff to define database and schema requirements and manage UAV platform data for insightful analysis.
• Flight & Logistics Management: Arrange UAV flight requests, pilot assignments, and operational tasks associated with data acquisition, including mapping, photography, video, LiDAR, and quality assurance of deliverables.
• Software & Partnerships: Supervise UAV flight and processing software and manage collaborations with platforms such as SkySkopes, DroneDeploy, and Pix4D.
• Business Development: Participate in business development activities, including responding to RFPs, delivering presentations, and preparing project proposals.

Required Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess:

• Strong proficiency in ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, and related extensions.
• Knowledge of relational database management, data analytics, and web-based GIS mapping services is advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, effective time management skills, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Computer Science, GIS, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in GIS or UAV operations.
• Remote Pilot Certification is required; Remote Sensing Certification is considered a plus.
