What the Role Entails

  1. Technical Roles & Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth technical SEO audits to identify issues like broken links, crawl errors, duplicate content, and slow page speed. Use tools like Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, and SEMrush for analysis.
  • Optimize meta tags, headers, and on-page content for target keywords. Implement structured data (schema markup) to enhance SERP visibility.
  • Set up and manage SEO dashboards in tools like Google Analytics and Looker Studio. Monitor website health and performance metrics, including organic traffic, keyword rankings, and bounce rates. 
  • Resolve crawl issues and ensure proper indexing of pages. Optimize website performance (Core Web Vitals, mobile responsiveness, and page load speed).

2. Functional Roles & Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for SEO-related discussions with clients. Present SEO strategies, reports, and recommendations to clients in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Create and implement SEO strategies aligned with client goals (e.g., increasing organic traffic, driving conversions, or improving brand visibility). Perform competitive analysis and identify gaps and opportunities.
  • Conduct keyword research to identify high-value, relevant keywords.
  • Experiment with emerging SEO tactics like AI-driven content optimization.

What does this Role Require

  1. Experience Required
  • 3+ years of experience in SEO, preferably within an agency setting.
  • Understanding of how business goals differ across industries and how to align SEO strategies with them.
  • Experience presenting strategies and reports to clients, explaining technical concepts in simple terms.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve organic traffic, keyword rankings, and conversions for previous clients.

2. Technical Skills Required

  • Understanding of Crawlability and Indexability, Core Web Vitals, Structured Data, Canonicalization and URL structure optimization, Redirect management
  • Strong skills in interpreting data from Google Analytics (GA4), SEMrush, or Ahrefs to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
  • Knowledge of tools like PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix, and Lighthouse for identifying speed and performance issues.
  • Experience with industry-standard tools:
    Keyword Research: Google Keyword Planner, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz, Ubersuggest.
    Website Auditing: Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, DeepCrawl.
    Rank Tracking: Ahrefs, SEMrush, BrightEdge.
    Analytics & Reporting: Google Analytics (GA4), Looker Studio (formerly Data Studio), Search Console, and Bing Webmaster Tools.

3. Certifications (Optional but Valued)

  • Google Analytics Certification (GA4).
  • SEMRush or Moz Certifications.
  • Advanced SEO Training from reputable platforms
  • HubSpot Content Marketing Certification.
  • HTML/CSS/JavaScript basics from Codecademy or similar.
