Buchanan is in search of a SEO Specialist to help grow our domain authority, refine our keyword strategy and GTM efforts, and build our online presence. The key focus of the job would be to monitor and analyze website performance using the latest SEO tools, build keyword clusters, recommend actionable insights to increase awareness and lead flow, and then execute those changes once approved. The SEO Specialist needs to have strong content marketing experience, plus strong technical expertise to keep the health of the site positive. This position will work with an internal team and an external agency in a blended marketing strategy which includes SEO, PPC, social media and email that all align with the services Buchanan offers.
Key Responsibilities and Skills Required
- Perform competitive analysis and keyword research for SEO and PPC to identify relevant terms and phrases used by potential clients
- Develop and implement SEO strategies specifically tailored to the MSP industry to increase organic traffic, improve search engine rankings and gain a competitive edge.
- Conduct competitor analysis and identify opportunities for link building strategies, content creation and/or content optimization to stay relevant and ahead of industry trends.
- Stay up to date with the latest SEO trends and Google algorithm updates to ensure strategies align with current best practices and technical and content adjustments are being made in a timely manner.
- Remain proficient in digital SEO marketing tools, platforms and strategies such as WordPress Yoast, SEM Rush, Nitro pack, SEO Quake, Screaming Frog, Heatmapping, GMB listings, localized search, and more.
- Possess technical proficiency in SEO skills, including experience with website audits, resolving crawl errors, indexation, site architecture structured data, redirect issues, and improving website speed and other core web vitals.
- Possess exceptional communication, project management, problem-solving and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Perform on-page and off-page SEO optimization, including meta tags, content optimization, imagery selection, internal linking, and technical SEO audits.
- Optimize website structure, URL hierarchy, and product descriptions to improve user experience and search engine visibility.
- Work with internal and external developers to ensure that the website is mobile friendly and optimized for both search engines and users.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics (e.g., organic traffic, ranking changes, CTR) to provide actionable insights and improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (content, web development, paid media) to ensure SEO strategies are integrated with broader marketing efforts. This could include collaborating with both in-house and agency content teams to optimize existing content as it relates to keyword strategy, and assist in the development of new, SEO-friendly content that meets the needs of our target audience in the MSP space.
Experience/Education/Skills Requirement
- A team player with a “can-do” attitude who supports and motivates others
- A minimum of 3-years of experience with a strong understanding of SEO, PPC, LinkedIn Marketing and email marketing
- Experience working with the WordPress content management system (CMS)
- Experience working in-house or working for an agency with a proven track record and the ability to showcase KPIs, key strategies and wins.
- Prior experience working with B2B service-oriented business
- BS/BA in marketing or relevant field, or experience that offsets formal education
- Demonstrates effective communication, professionalism and presentation skills
- Must have time-management, organizational, and project management skills with a work ethic that supports a remote environment where able to own self accountability and responsibility
- Initiative-taking, independent worker that has a demonstrated sense of urgency
- Results oriented individual with a strong business acumen and a good grip on financial ROI for the business
- Strong analytical skills and a data-driven mindset.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office tools such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, & Outlook
- Candidate must be able to interact effectively with all levels of management and staff
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel for business as needed (5-10%)
- Comfortable in fast-paced environment, and able to manage ambiguity
Other Skills -Nice to Have
- SEO certifications are preferred but not mandatory
- Strong understanding of Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads and PPC campaign management.
- Strong knowledge on Google Analytics, Search Console and Google Looker Studio
- Ability to create and launch paid advertising strategies from scratch
- Strong writing skills
- Expertise on Facebook Business Manager
- Produce reports for management (e.g. dashboards)
- Expertise in technical writing for MSP preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
