As a Shift Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our facility’s operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of equipment and systems, and responding to technical issues promptly.
Job Description
Main Duties
– Operate, monitor, and maintain plant equipment, including AHUs, boilers, chillers, and other mechanical systems
– Respond quickly and efficiently to repair requests from guests and departments
– Perform regular inspections of designated plant rooms, reporting defects and maintaining cleanliness
– Serve as the first point of contact for job requests from other departments
– Monitor inventory levels of spare parts and supplies, reporting restocking needs to supervisors
– Communicate effectively about ongoing repairs, including timelines and any unforeseen delays
– Maintain a clean and organized work environment, using appropriate signage when necessary
– Collaborate with other departments and team members to ensure smooth facility operations
– Participate in rotating shift schedules, including night shifts, to provide 24/7 coverage
– Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing duties
– Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for work order management and reporting
– Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)
– 3-5 years of engineering experience in a similar role
– Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including basic plumbing and electrical work
– Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and plant equipment (AHUs, boilers, chillers, etc.)
– Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
– Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
– Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
– Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
– Keen attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
– Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently
– Flexibility to work different shifts, including nights, as part of a rotating schedule
– Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations in industrial settings
– Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
– Physical capability to perform tasks that may involve lifting, climbing, and working in various environmental conditions.
