About The Opportunity

As part of the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team that is embedded within product teams, you will share responsibility for deployment, availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning of Dayforce, a comprehensive, modern cloud human capital management (HCM) software platform for managing the entire employee lifecycle.

To be successful, an SRE will require a cross functional skill set and an understanding of the Dayforce system. A full mental model of how its functions will in turn allow SRE to work in situations where not all parameters are defined, and you will be required to “blaze new trails”. That is, create solutions where none existed. You will need to help lead others from varied teams and technical backgrounds to find the required results as a group.

What You’ll Get To Do

• Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of applications from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement
• Participate in system design, frameworks development, capacity planning, and launch reviews
• Deploy and maintain microservices once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health
• Automate infrastructure both by coding it and by advising engineers on the best practices
• Provide organizational leadership by practicing sustainable incident response postmortems
• Measure the risk of introduced features to plan ahead and improve the infrastructure to mitigate customer impact
• Propose and drive architectural changes that affect the whole company to solve scaling and performance problems
• Lead significant project work for the team
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization and help create, define, and maintain SLOs.

Skills And Experience We Value

• Creative systematic problem-solving, effective communication skills and a sense of ownership
• Experience with trunk-based development, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code and tools such as Terraform
• Experience with Agile cross-functional product teams (aka pods, squads, etc.)
• Experience writing code: JS, Python or PowerShell
• Experience with SQL databases and public cloud vendors
• Experience creating Disaster Recovery and High Availability strategies
• Experience with Kubernetes and containerization
