The Cloudera Observability team is looking for passionate Software Engineers to join our growing engineering team. The team is responsible for building out a Hybrid Observability Platform for the market-leading Cloudera Data Platform(CDP). The goal of this team is to make a scalable, robust and cloud native solution to provide customers a unified view to monitor their workloads and react to system failures & abnormal behaviors.

We are building a team of top-notch engineers that are passionate about distributed systems, scalability, test-driven development, and user experience. As a software engineer on this team, you will be responsible for architecting and implementing a diverse set of applications that will be used to provide realtime and historical observability to thousands of Private and Public Cloud CDP customers across a number of CDP services. You will also get an opportunity to work on & contribute to open source components like open-telemetry-collector, thanos.

As a Software Engineer II, you will:

Ship high-quality distributed systems that run on Kubernetes
Collaborate with engineers, tech leads, architects, product managers to deliver your product
Coach junior engineers on all aspects of software development

We’re excited about you if you have:

2+ years of industry experience building software in a large scale production environment. We mainly use Go and Java, but we’re equally happy hiring people versed in other enterprise grade languages
General understanding of distributed systems, microservices-based architecture, networks and the web architecture
Experience with systems design
Open-minded and desire to learn new technologies on a regular basis
You must be self-motivated, innovative, and proactive

You may also have:

Hands-on experience with Go language
Experience building and maintaining containerized applications on Kubernetes
Experience with open source monitoring solutions such as Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Openshift
