Job Overview Summary
This role contributes to the success of the Sponsor Technology function at Advarra. The software engineer will help with developing web application utilizing agile development and continuous deployment methodologies.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for and has expertise with web application development, particularly with a scripting language such as Ruby, Python, PHP, as well as Javascript, HTML, CSS.
The candidate is an experienced software engineer, familiar with agile development and continuous deployment methodologies. They will contribute heavily to the design and specification of core features of the product and will take ownership for the delivery and quality of those features.
Location
This role is open to candidates working hybrid or remote from India, Ireland, or the U.S.
Basic Qualifications
- BSc or higher in Computer Science or related discipline.
- 3+ years industry experience.
- 3+ years building web applications with one of either RoR, Python, or PHP.
- Demonstrable knowledge of front-end technologies such as CSS, HTML, and Javascript
- Strong communication skills.
- Highly motivated and passionate about learning new technologies and approaches to software development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven work experience with RoR.
- Proven work experience in software development.
- Proven work experience with PhoneGap.
- Experience of working in a small team or startup environment.
- Experience using Git.
- Actively contributing to an open-source project.
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Sit or stand for extended periods of time at stationary workstation
- Regularly carry, raise, and lower objects of up to 10 Lbs.
- Learn and comprehend basic instructions
- Focus and attention to tasks and responsibilities
- Verbal communication; listening and understanding, responding, and speaking
