Software Engineer (Remote)

Position: Software Engineer

Location: 100% Remote (US Only)

Contract Length: 12 Months

Interview Process: 2 Rounds

Compensation: 45-50/hr W2

About the Role:

As a Developer on our Heartland Integrations team, you’ll work on RESTful API endpoints that connect external partners with our internal systems. Primarily using Node.js and MongoDB, you’ll support and enhance the data flow between our .NET, C#, WCF, and Oracle-based applications. You’ll be part of a Scrum-based Agile environment, gaining hands-on experience throughout the entire software development lifecycle—from design to deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the design and implementation of RESTful API microservices.
• Develop and maintain backend components using Node.js and MongoDB.
• Support integrations with external and internal systems built on .NET, C#, WCF, and Oracle.
• Participate in builds, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure seamless application performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members within an Agile framework.
• Stay current with emerging technologies to continuously improve and optimize solutions.

What We’re Looking For:

• 2+ years of professional software development experience, ideally with transactional systems.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience building RESTful microservices using Node.js and MongoDB.
• A foundational understanding of .NET, C#, WCF, and Oracle, with the willingness to deepen your expertise.
• Solid grasp of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
• Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) and AWS services like ECS or Lambda is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive, team-first mindset.
• Experience working in Agile teams, adapting to changing priorities and delivering on commitments.
