Software Quality Assurance Engineer (Remote)

Zad is a fintech startup aiming to bring multiple international investment opportunities to both new investors looking to make the best use of their money and experienced investors looking to diversify their portfolios. We launched our mobile app at the beginning of this year which gives users the option to trade U.S. stocks of companies that are deemed shariah compliant and have been a huge success in the region surpassing long term key metrics in the span of a few months. We were chosen Fintech of the Year 2023 by Entrepreneur magazine. And without skipping a beat we are working on adding many more features as well as apps that align with the common goal of easy, efficient, sound investment. 

As a QA Engineer at Zad, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products. You’ll work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to design, implement, and execute testing processes that align with our agile development cycle. Your work will directly impact the experience of our users and the reputation of our products in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

– Develop, document, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for web and mobile applications.

– Conduct manual and automated testing to identify, document, and track bugs and performance issues.

– Collaborate with development teams to understand product requirements and acceptance criteria.

– Build and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Appium, or similar frameworks.

– Perform regression, performance, and security testing to ensure product stability.

– Monitor and analyze testing results, and provide clear, actionable feedback to development teams.

– Work within an Agile environment to support continuous integration and delivery.

– Contribute to improving QA processes, methodologies, and tools to ensure high-quality releases.

– Stay up to date with emerging testing tools and industry best practices.

Requirements:

– 3+ years of experience in software testing, preferably in a fintech or startup environment.

– Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.

– Experience with both manual and automated testing practices.

– Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript) for test automation.

– Hands-on experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, TestNG, Cypress).

– Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, or GitLab.

– Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

– Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.

– Knowledge of financial systems, regulations, or payment technologies is a plus.
