What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)

• Design, build, and operate highly scalable APIs and full-stack solutions impacting millions of travelers
• Develop back-end features within a fast-paced, experiment-heavy, and data-driven AGILE product lifecycle
• Conduct code reviews to uphold high-quality standards and best practices
• Collaborate closely with fellow engineers, designers, and product managers to ensure alignment
• Participate in design and product discussions, with opportunities to mentor peers

What Is Required (Qualifications)

• Strong passion for building high-quality software and owning projects from concept to delivery
• Experience or willingness to learn distributed system development in Scala
• Ability to build robust systems capable of handling large transaction volumes and user loads
• Natural drive to dive deep into unfamiliar codebases while maintaining a focus on delivering results
• Strong product thinking with a customer-centric approach to quality

How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
• Familiarity with GCP, GKE, and modern web technologies like React and TypeScript
• Background in API design and development
• Previous experience in mentoring or leading engineering discussions
• Understanding of AB testing methodologies
