Sr Data Engineer (Remote)

Job Description

Sphera is looking for a Software Engineer to join our SpheraCloud engineering team. Our software helps companies achieve their ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) goals. Come work on a team that utilizes the best technologies to deliver great new features to a quickly growing SaaS product.

Responsibilities

• Scrum/Agile based development of a SaaS Application
• Technical Design/Build/Unit Testing of new features
• Analysis and Refactoring of existing source code
• Analyze requirements, suggest concepts, and assess development efforts
• Establish yourself as a Subject Matter Expert
• Mentor other engineers

Required Skills

• 1-3 years experience building applications on cloud platforms
• Expertise with functional programming in Scala
• Experience with analytics/Big Data solutions (ie. Hadoop, Akka)
• Experience with database design and optimization
• Experience with current trends in software development
• Experience with Software Design Patterns and Best Practices

Skills Considered a Plus

• Experience with containerization
• Experience optimizing applications for performance
• SaaS Product Development experience
• Scrum/Agile experience
