Job Description

The Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A, will play a pivotal role in supporting strategic decision-making through detailed financial insights, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis, with a primary focus on SaaS-specific metrics. This role demands a deeply analytical mindset, intellectual curiosity, and proactive communication skills to partner effectively with business units like Sales, Marketing, and Solutions. Responsibilities include leading the budgeting process, conducting variance analyses, and providing actionable insights on SaaS metrics (ARR, Churn, LTV, CAC) to drive performance. The position requires managing complex processes and priorities with agility, often adjusting focus to meet evolving needs within tight timelines. Key tasks involve owning and maintaining the P&L for specific business divisions, running detailed weekly forecasts, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with business goals. This individual must demonstrate mastery in financial modeling (Adaptive Insights, Excel) and reporting, maintain detailed documentation for board and investor presentations, and leverage tools like NetSuite and Google Sheets to provide robust “what-if” scenario analysis. An MBA and a background in the SaaS industry with over five years of FP&A experience are essential. Candidates should be highly adept in communication and skilled in prioritizing workload under competing demands, showcasing a strong service-oriented approach to supporting the business financial and operational goals.

About the Role:

This high-profile Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A role involves deep partnership with key business units, providing insights that drive decision-making at the highest levels, including collaboration with founders and the CFO. The ideal candidate will bring a strong analytical mindset, profound knowledge of SaaS metrics, and a proactive approach to influence business leaders with data-driven recommendations. This role combines financial planning, strategic advisory, and operational efficiency responsibilities, with a focus on managing rapid, shifting priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a strategic partner to departments such as Sales, Marketing, and Solutions, delivering actionable financial insights.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, long-range planning, and ongoing weekly forecast updates, ensuring Adaptive tools reflect current data.
  • Analyze SaaS-specific metrics (ARR, Churn, LTV, CAC, etc.) to provide strategic recommendations for performance enhancement.
  • Develop and maintain advanced financial models to forecast revenue and expenses.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly performance reviews, delivering variance analysis and recommendations for optimization.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial forecasts align with broader business objectives.
  • Identify and communicate key trends, risks, and opportunities, supporting leadership with insights for decision-making.
  • Prepare Board and investor presentations, handle ad-hoc analyses, manage special projects, and develop cases for new business initiatives.
  • Continuously refine reporting and forecasting processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Stay updated on SaaS trends and benchmarks to guide financial strategy.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA from a top-tier institution with a proven track record is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A, ideally within the SaaS industry.
  • Proficient understanding of SaaS financial models and metrics (ARR, MRR, Churn, etc.).
  • Advanced skills in Excel and financial modeling; experience with Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, or similar tools is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and effectively, suitable for high-profile executive audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with all levels of the organization confidently.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and adjust to shifting demands in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is advantageous.
  • Exceptional English language proficiency, with advanced skills in articulation, interpretation, and professional presentation.
