Job Description
Sagetap is looking for an experienced, curious, collaborative senior fullstack developer to join our fully remote engineering team. As a senior member of an engineering- and innovation-first company, you will be empowered to discuss, design, and implement solutions throughout our platform from ideation all the way to production.
An interest in implementing and advocating for good coding practices is important, focusing on writing code that is testable, observable, and maintainable. Ideally, there should be considerations on how systems and code are architected, the selection of optimal tools, and fostering effective collaboration to achieve common objectives.
You will have the opportunity to work with industry standard technologies and drive the adoption of additional tools to build an innovative and evolving product with a team of open and friendly engineers. You will also be given the opportunity to transform this into a full-stack role if you have experience or interest in the back end.
Qualifications
What You’ll Do:
- Write code in Typescript, React, and Next.js to develop our front end systems
- Write code in Kotlin to develop our back end systems
- Communicate clearly with our business and product partners to better understand their requirements, and then help plan, scope, and execute upon them
- Be an advocate for best practices around testing, design, observability, etc. to maintain the long-term quality and stability of the platform
- Collaborate with, learn from, and teach others on the team about languages, tooling, techniques, etc.
What We’re Looking For
- 4+ years of software engineering or relevant experience
- Proficiency in programming with Typescript and React (Next.js experience is also appreciated)
- Proficiency in programming with Kotlin or similar languages (e.g. Java, C#)
- Experience with databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and confidence with core SQL
- Experience with git or other version control systems
- Experience in writing, using, and debugging RESTful APIs
- An empathetic mindset (for our users and the rest of our team), the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively, and a willingness and desire to learn
- Experience in an online marketplace is strongly preferred
What We Offer
- Competitive salary.
- Stock options.
- Fully remote. Work from anywhere! However, we do like to have a significant overlap in working hours, so you should be willing to work on a schedule between UTC-9 and UTC-5.
- Reasonable flexibility in hours. We’re a fully remote team across multiple timezones and with various responsibilities, so this is more of a “code in main” than “butts in seats” sort of workplace. As long as you’re around for calls, can chime in when folks need help, and execute upon your commitments, then it’s up to you when, where, and how you work.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- Generous vacation and holiday policy.
- Remote office equipment budget.
Diversity drives innovation, enables better decisions to support our customers, and inspires change for the better. We’re building a culture where differences are valued and welcomed. We work together to bring out the best in each other. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or any other applicable legally protected characteristics in the location in which the candidate is applying.
