General Description:
The Senior Project Manager coordinates and manages all aspects of trauma registry engagements working in conjunction with the leadership team to ensure the goals and objectives of each engagement are met.
The Senior Project Manager defines the abstracting and registry operations procedures for each engagement, provides training and direct supervision of assigned Trauma Registrars, and coordinates and manages the validation activities for each engagement to ensure high quality abstraction. This includes monitoring validation scores and corrections as well as providing educational interventions as needed to assist abstractors with improving their quality.
Qualifications:
- 2 years Trauma Registry abstracting experience and use of all registry industry related reference materials, required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Products, industry related registry software systems, and electronic medical record applications, required.
- ·Good communication, documentation, organization and planning skills, required.
- At least one (1) year of previous quality or project management experience, preferred.
- Certifications and Licensures:
- Completion of a trauma registry course, AAAM AIS Coding Course 2015, Trauma ICD 10 Coding Course, Maintenance of required continuing education units, required.
- CAISS, preferred
- Ability to learn, process, and comprehend basic instructions of the job.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly.
Essential Duties/Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Comply and follow the management policy and procedure
- Manage all abstracting and registry operations/engagement related activities in accordance with applicable regulatory agencies for assigned specialty area(s)
- Ensure all roadmaps, engagement parameters, engagement overview documents, and/or any other engagement related documents are current and followed
- Ensure successful setup and implementation of new engagements including working with each client to define documents, expectations, and requirements for the services RP will provide
- Conduct staff training on data abstraction software and facility electronic medical application
- Provide clear expectations, goals and deadlines to engagement team(s)
- Conduct re-abstraction of initial cases for each abstractor at the onset of a new engagement
- Conduct weekly re-abstraction and/or data report review on assigned engagements to ensure quality standards
- Monitors quality compliance and completion for each assigned engagement and staff member
- Complete weekly case log verification and assignments for assigned engagements
- Provide ongoing quality guidance and support for abstraction on assigned engagements
- Schedule engagement team work assignments/hours to meet the needs of each engagement with accurate forecasting
- Provide education regarding industry and/or regulatory agency changes/updates as needed
- Attend and actively participate in meetings, as requested
- Submit abstracting/coding questions to registry forum as directed and/or after discussion with management team
- Provide timely response, per RP policy, to employee and client questions/concerns and consult with management team, when necessary
- Proactively identify and analyze challenges to ensure a successful solution
