What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)

• Underwrite new and renewal business, including the analysis and pricing of complex multi-line risks
• Utilize underwriting rules and guidelines to determine terms and conditions of coverage
• Generate new business through effective relationship management and consultative selling
• Prepare reports on underwriting and marketing activities for management review
• Mentor coworkers and coordinate account management activities across various departments

What Is Required (Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
• Minimum of 7 years of casualty underwriting experience with an insurance carrier
• Advanced understanding of underwriting mechanics and casualty coverage
• Strong knowledge of local and regional market conditions and industry trends
• Demonstrated proficiency in marketing, prospecting, and relationship building

• Additional knowledge in financial analysis, account management, and collateral management
• Proven ability to effectively communicate and foster creative solutions
• Established relationships with local distribution networks, including agents and brokers
