Our Engineering team is made up of full stack developers, software engineers and data engineers. We all have one thing in common: we love finding solutions to complex problems. We develop new features for our patient-facing app or our internal web application.
To support our growing business, we are looking for a Staff Backend Engineer based in Poland.
The role
As a Backend Engineer engineer, you will join a rapidly growing Engineering Department driving Oviva forward.
Work in small cross-functional teams, closely interacting with product owners as well as fellow engineers.
Evolve our platform by designing, building capabilities to reach our product goals and vision.
Operate and own capabilities in productive environments.
Deliver software in quality and time.
Shape how we work within the engineering team in terms of technology and standards.
Key responsibilities
Design, build, operate and maintain capabilities within the Oviva’s platform.
Active contribution in daily standup, grooming, review/demo, retrospective, sprint and OKR cycle planning meetings.
Collaborates with squad members on technical design, quality, security & architecture in compliance with standards and concepts.
Help dealing with platform interruptions by tracking down bugs and squashing them.
Works with the product manager to refine and groom the backlog and create the acceptance criteria.
What are we looking for you to bring
Strong problem-solving skills
Efficient and precise communication with peers and other business stakeholders
Excellent teamwork, ensuring the success of the entire team
Solid background in computer science or equivalent field
Inclination to automate their tasks
Desirable:
Master’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent field
Experience in designing, building and operating softwareExperience in specific technologies and frameworks (Java 17+, Jakarta, Quarkus, SQL, …)
