Studio Coordinator | Walk Through Walls | Australia

The Role:
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Studio Coordinator to support the delivery of high-quality arts and cultural programming for the Juluwarlu Artists’ Group. You will manage the day-to-day operations of the art studio, supporting artists in their creative practice and fostering artistic development. In this role, you will also coordinate materials, assist in exhibition preparation, and promote artists’ work through community engagement and marketing initiatives.

About Us:
Juluwarlu Group Aboriginal Corporation, owned and operated by Yindjibarndi community Elders and members, is dedicated to supporting cultural, social, and health aspirations of the Yindjibarndi people. Based in Ngurrawaana, we are committed to preserving and promoting the Yindjibarndi language, culture, and arts, and we offer significant opportunities for social, creative, and economic growth.

Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate day-to-day operations of the art studio and assist artists with their creative practices.
• Provide guidance and support for artistic development, including mentoring and skill-sharing.
• Manage art materials, ensure studio cleanliness, and support exhibition preparation.
• Coordinate the documentation of artworks and support the preservation of the artists’ cultural narratives.
• Contribute to the professional development of artists and assist in funding applications and reporting.

Essential Criteria:
• Ability to support art studio operations, assist with materials, and prepare works for exhibitions and markets.
• Experience delivering arts support programs that foster artistic growth.
• Strong organisational and communication skills, with an ability to manage studio operations and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to multitask in a cross-cultural and high-pressure environment.
• Proven capacity to work in a remote setting, demonstrating resilience and cultural awareness.
• Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel within remote areas.
Desirable Criteria:
• Experience working with and supporting Aboriginal artists.
• Understanding of contemporary Aboriginal and broader visual arts industries, including exhibition opportunities and emerging trends.
• Experience in photography, videography, and artwork documentation.
• Knowledge of Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP).

Benefits:
• Competitive salary of $90,000 plus superannuation.
