Style Culture Editor (Remote)

SoccerBible is a media brand, editorial publisher and curated platform dedicated to expanding creativity through football and shaping football’s relationship with what we call ‘Creative Soccer Culture’. With creativity at the heart of everything we do, our in-house creative studio — BIBLEHAUS — builds bridges between brands and our audience. With a monthly reach of 6.5M+ across platforms, SoccerBible has become one of the most influential voices in football’s new media landscape.

SoccerBible is looking for an energetic and creative Style & Culture Editor to help shape the story for Creative Soccer Culture while developing SoccerBible’s digital strategy specific to your coverage area. We are looking for a big thinker who will bring creativity and energy to our developing editorial team.

As Style & Culture Editor you will identify and regularly report on style and culture moments, news, and creators that matter to Creative Soccer Culture. You will have a passion and vision for Creative Soccer Culture, a strong taste level, and a desire to spotlight stories in a new, engaging way. You will possess a great attention to detail, while being able to produce multiple daily articles at speed. This position requires a thorough understanding of contemporary football culture, an in-depth knowledge football fashion, as well as experience in style and culture-based storytelling.

The core responsibilities of the role will be:

• Have your finger on the pulse of style and culture-related content relevant to Creative Soccer Culture and ensure we are crafting compelling storytelling around them.
• Contribute to SoccerBible’s broader content strategy, identifying content gaps, and proposing new content ideas.
• Establish the voice for SoccerBible’s style and culture coverage across all platforms.
• Produce a wide array of daily news articles, feature stories and opinion pieces of varying lengths that demonstrate a unique point of view and expert knowledge.
• Strengthen SoccerBible as an authority on style and culture-related news, using creativity to conceive original takes on topics.
• Identify emerging subcultures and new communities relevant to Creative Soccer Culture.
• Monitor user activity on articles and using it to inform pitches for original content and follow-up stories.
• Ensure all deadlines and quotas are met within set timeframes.
• Follow best practices to optimise news stories for SEO purposes.
• Conduct interviews and attend events as required.
• Write occasionally on ad hoc topics, as assigned.
• Work with the Social Media Manager to amplify editorial content.
• Develop and nurture relationships with creators and brand partners.

Your skills and requirements as the Social Media Editor:

• 3+ years of professional experience in content creation.
• Robust knowledge and passion of the SoccerBible brand and our core content topics.
• Extremely passionate and knowledgeable about contemporary football culture.
• A proven ability to think, imagine and produce new and original ideas.
• Experience working to deadlines in a fast-moving media company or publisher.
• Excellent English communication skills — both verbal and written.
• The ability to be a self-starter, capable of working both independently and within a team structure.
• Flexibility to work nights and weekends.
• Beginner/Intermediate proficiency with Photoshop
