Position Overview

Are you detail-oriented and proactive with a passion for supply chain efficiency? We are looking for a Purchasing and Logistics Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will manage the procurement of raw and packaging materials, ensure seamless documentation processes, and handle freight logistics. Your work will be key to maintaining the smooth operation of our supply chain and upholding our standards of excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Raw Materials Management:

• Oversee purchase orders (POs) for raw materials: place, update, and track them.
• Collaborate with the Sourcing & Purchasing team to resolve discrepancies and coordinate deliveries.

• Manage POs for packaging materials: place, update, and follow up.
• Run MRP weekly to ensure timely ordering of materials.

• Work with internal and external stakeholders to address and resolve documentation issues.
• Ensure all partners have necessary documentation for production and compliance.

• Solicit and evaluate freight bids to secure cost-effective and reliable transportation.
• Coordinate logistics for shipments to ensure timely delivery.
• Maintain strong relationships with freight carriers, addressing any issues as they arise.

• Partner with operations and procurement teams for smooth alignment and efficiency.
• Provide regular updates on purchasing and logistics activities.
• Resolve documentation issues internally and with external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in purchasing, logistics, or supply chain management, preferably within the food industry.
• Strong knowledge of raw and packaging materials.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), with Spanish proficiency a plus.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with great attention to detail.
• Proficient in using MRP on ERP systems (experience with SAP Business One preferred) and Microsoft Office/Google Suite; Mac experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

Remote position with occasional visits to the office or manufacturing facilities in the Chicago area (up to 10% of the time) for team meetings, inventory counts, and other initiatives.
