Job Description:

We are currently in search of a highly experienced L3 Systems Engineer to become a valuable addition to our team. In the role of Systems Engineer, your primary focus will revolve around ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient functionality of our information systems which play a pivotal role in supporting our core organizational functions. Your responsibilities encompass overseeing the monitoring, maintenance, support, and enhancement of our existing array of internal servers and services, all while actively contributing to fresh optimization initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Establish a cohesive infrastructure and technology stack strategy to enhance operational efficiency across the organization.
• Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for their improvement or enhanced utilization.
• Coordinate and conduct thorough testing, including end-user assessments, for both modified and new systems.
• Continuously monitor and assess system performance and prepare and deliver comprehensive performance reports and statistics.
• Lead and oversee the configuration and maintenance of server operating systems for a range of virtual servers, ensuring peak performance and stability.
• Employ industry-standard monitoring tools to identify and address security vulnerabilities on an ongoing basis.
• Formulate and create system design models and specifications to provide clear guidance to development teams.
• Collaborate in defining business requirements, troubleshooting system issues, and contributing to the overall effectiveness of our business systems.
• Provide support to engineers at all levels to ensure the uninterrupted availability of servers, systems, and related infrastructure, whether for internal or customer-facing systems.
• Generate comprehensive documentation covering all aspects of the specified area to ensure it is accessible and applicable for typical scenarios and maintain its relevance.
• Collaborate with other departments to effectively monitor and report on cross-projects and tasks to ensure the highest value and quality of efforts.

Qualifications and Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Expertise in Linux: Demonstrated proficiency with Linux distributions such as CentOS, RHEL, and Cloud Linux, coupled with a deep understanding of the LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) stack.
• Linux Firewall Proficiency: Adept at configuring and managing Linux-based firewall solutions to ensure network security.
• Networking Acumen: Solid grasp of networking fundamentals, various protocols, routing principles, and firewall configurations.
• Scripting Skills: Strong scripting abilities in bash, Perl, and Python, enabling automation and efficient system management.
• Database Experience: Preferred experience with relational databases such as MySQL, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL, with expertise in SQL administration.
• Availability for On-Call Duty: Willingness and readiness to participate in on-call duties as part of the role’s expectations.
• Virtualization Proficiency: Familiarity with virtualization platforms like Proxmox, Virtuozzo, and VMware.
• Configuration Management Systems: Experience with configuration management systems such as Ansible, Puppet, and Salt for streamlined system configuration and maintenance.
• Storage Technology Knowledge: Familiarity with storage technologies like NFS and iSCSI troubleshooting to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Creating and managing CI/CD processes, ensuring the security of continuous integration and deployment.
• Designing, setting up, configuring, and managing OpenLiteSpeed servers with hands-on experience.
• Enabling application deployment and management using Docker container technology.
• Knowledge and experience in the setup, configuration, and management of various hosting platforms like cPanel, Plesk, CuberPanel, HestiaCP, cwp, and WHMCS
• Collaborative Team Player: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, driving projects to successful completion through effective communication and teamwork.
