YOUR FUTURE TEAM

As part of TCEQ Administrative Services, you would help support the logistical and operational structure for TCEQ statewide – the business foundation for the whole agency. See details about what we do.

This position is a member of our Information Resources Division.


KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience programming with JAVA, J2EE, JBOSS, Spring or SEAM, EJB, JSF, Primefaces, Hibernate, Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, Java Script, XML, and/or HTML
  • Experience writing web services in JAVA and/or experience consuming/using web services.
  • Experience with configuration management, quality assurance, and/or change management.


HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Lead and participate in the analysis, development, programming, and implementation/modification of agency software applications for the TCEQ.
  • Review and evaluate coding best practices, techniques, and training needs. Lead coding tasks for application maintenance, support, and development based on requirements and design documentation and adhering to agency IT standards.
  • Provide technical advice and perform design tasks for application maintenance, support, and development, based on requirements documentation while adhering to agency IT standards.
  • Provide advice on technical tasks regarding application maintenance, support, and development, to include creating charters, developing business cases; participate in sponsor meetings, create requirements documentation, and facilitate joint application development (JAD) sessions.

Qualifications


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Five (5) years of full-time experience in computer programming, computer system administration, and/or systems analysis.

OR

A master’s degree from an accredited college or university, or technical college with a major in computer science, plus two (2) years of full-time experience in computer programming, computer system administration, and/or systems analysis.


OR

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with 12 semester hours in computer science, plus three (3) years of full-time experience in computer programming, computer system administration, and/or systems analysis.

OR

Completion of 30 semester hours (600 clock hours) in computer science from a licensed vocational, technical or business school or accredited college, plus three (3) years of full-time experience in computer programming, computer system administration, and/or systems analysis.


OR

Completion of 15 semester hours (300 clock hours) in computer science from a licensed vocational, technical or business school or accredited college, plus four (4) years of full-time experience in computer programming, computer system administration, and/or systems analysis.
