We are seeking an experienced and strategic Team Leader – Impact Assessment Services to spearhead our team in delivering high-quality services that extend beyond land planning approvals. This role is open to an Environmental Planner, Environmental Scientist, Environmental Manager, or Ecologist with a proven track record in impact assessment and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership and Oversight: Manage the Impact Assessment Services team, ensuring excellence in project delivery across various legislative frameworks, including the Environmental Protection Act 1994, State Development and Public Works Organisation Act 1971, and Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act).
• Team Management: Maximise team utilisation through effective delegation, fostering professional development, and tracking achievement of team KPIs (team revenue and financial targets, team productivity and project management targets).
• Strategic Delivery: Lead projects involving site selection and due diligence, environmental constraints analysis, approval strategies, referrals and assessments under the EPBC Act, and biodiversity offset management.
• Project Success: Ensure the delivery of projects aligns with client expectations for cost, time, and quality, while pursuing new business opportunities.
• Key Client Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients, ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business.
• Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including new services, clients, and industries. Develop and execute strategies to grow the company’s service offerings and market presence.
• Pastoral Care: Support team members’ professional growth and personal well-being.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other team leaders to ensure efficient access to shared resources and services.
• Strategic Alignment: Partner with the Senior Leadership Group (Directors and Operations Manager) to align the team’s direction with broader company goals, with the potential for a future leadership role.

About You:

• Experience: At least 10 years of experience in environmental planning, science, management, or ecology, with a demonstrated ability to lead teams and deliver complex projects.
• Leadership: A record of strong, steady leadership, with the ability to inspire and develop teams.
• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of relevant environmental legislation and frameworks, with the ability to provide strategic advice to clients. Ability to coordinate and prepare large, complex reports such as Environmental Assessment Reports, EPBC Act assessment documentation. 
• Communication: Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to engage with clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
• Collaboration: A collaborative leader who thrives in a team-oriented environment.
