Position Summary
The Technical Program Manager (TPM) will play a critical role in overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of complex technical projects. They will serve as the primary point of contact for cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment across engineering, product, and business teams. Their work will directly contribute to achieving business objectives by managing the end-to-end lifecycle of technical initiatives and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of Internet of Things (IoT) and connected product initiatives from concept through deployment
- Manage product certifications and compliance (e.g., FCC, USB, FIDO) ensuring adherence to security, privacy, and regulatory standards
- Oversee the international readiness of products and coordinate efforts for commercial and operational success in global markets
- Coordinate security audits and mitigation actions to ensure the security and compliance of connected products
- Track product deliverables, readiness, and key milestones, ensuring that all project requirements and dependencies are met on time
- Act as the primary point of contact for both technical and non-technical stakeholders across business verticals, facilitating clear communication and collaboration
- Provide guidance to cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment of project goals and resolving issues as they arise
- Coordinate with third-party contractors, contract manufacturers, and suppliers across global time zones to ensure product delivery
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring all issues are addressed promptly to keep the project on track
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, allocate resources effectively, and ensure efficient project execution
- Drive continuous improvement in project management processes, incorporating best practices to enhance team productivity and project outcomes
- Provide regular updates to senior management on project status, risks, and outcomes, ensuring complete visibility throughout the project lifecycle
- Embrace AI and automation tools to streamline workflows, improve data-driven decision-making, and enhance project delivery efficiency

Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
- PMP, Scrum Master, or other project management certifications are a plus
Other Experience, Requirements & Qualifications
- 5 plus years of experience in technical program/pro management, with a focus on IoT or connected products
- Hardware product experience and high-volume production environment is required
- Well-versed in consumer electronics and wearable products with technologies like Near-Field Communication (NFC) and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and development tools (CI/CD, Git) is a plus
- Strong understanding of IoT protocols, cloud platforms, and engineering best practices
- Experience with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies and project management tools like Jira
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex technical projects on time and within scope
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and time-management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a remote work environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in high-pressure situations
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven track record of collaborating across teams and departments
- Knowledge of security and compliance requirements for IoT solutions
- Familiarity with hardware design, embedded systems, and product lifecycle management is a plus
Base salary for this role is between 130,000-140,000 depending on your unique mix of education and experience.
