Technical Project Manager (Remote)

Requirements

We are looking for someone with proven experience in providing end-to-end delivery of projects and digital solutions. A calm approach and confident character is required as you will be representing the company to premium brands as well as managing their day to day expectations. Budget-burn management and reports on project profitability will be expected from you.

But it’s not only strong project management skills you’ll need. We also require some technical ability and understanding of websites, apps or web integrations and how they work. Often an “out the box” and hands-on approach may be needed to solve some complicated issues, so a clear head and a creative approach to problematic situations and blockers is essential.

Ideally you should have an agency or product background, with experience of working on big builds with multiple client stakeholders. An autonomous problem solver and self-starter who will use their own initiative and bring ideas to the table to creatively manage budgets and demanding clients.

Your skill set will include the following:

• Strong verbal and communication skills
• Strong written skills including note taking, user story and feature writing and requirements gathering
• Ability to manage work for a development team
• Analytical skills and eye for details
• Make recommendations and raise queries
• Anticipate potential problems in advance and escalate these with your team
• Outstanding organisational skills
• Proficiency with Contentful or similar CMS systems
• Strong experience with Jira and Confluence
• An understanding of Agile methodologies, including Kanban
• Excellent risk assessment and strategies
• An understanding of the technicalities of a  website and/or app
• High proficiency with Google Docs & Sheets
• Proficiency with Harvest or similar project tool
• Proficiency with Runn or similar scheduling tool

The Details

As a Project Manager you will be delivering new projects and features as well as managing retainers for a variety of premium sports clients.

These will be a mix of new and bespoke builds, in-house products and client retainer work. You will be responsible for assessing risk, planning for and requesting design, development and QA resources and balancing budget and client needs.

You will take a detailed approach to managing projects from initial conception and workshops, through Agile delivery cycles to completion and deployment and then on to retainer management.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

• Effective servicing of clients and management of client and stakeholder relationships
• Ensuring that projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
• Managing detailed project plans
• Measuring project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
• Effective risk management of projects
• Roadmap management for clients and awareness of, and promotion of, potential future work and new projects
