- Lead and mentor a team of 5-6 software engineers in a remote working environment
- Help manage team rotations to align support activities with development squad sprints
- Implement and maintain Kanban methodologies for support operations
- Manage support ticket queue and handle escalations effectively
- Coordinate with other squad leaders and stakeholders to ensure alignment on objectives and deliverables
- Oversee access rights management and system permissions
- Support professional development initiatives
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across all levels of the organisation
- Monitor and maintain platform operability, including:
- Managing disk space issues
- Addressing latency concerns
- Handling high error rate incidents
- Monitoring and resolving CPU/memory utilisation issues
- Lead severity one incident response and resolution
- Manage firefighter rotation for operational support
- Hands-on technical work including:
- Direct involvement in ticket resolution (2-4 hours per ticket)
- Contributing to smaller technical tasks and improvements
- Provide technical guidance to the team on support tickets
- Assist in troubleshooting critical issues and support escalations
- Ensure adherence to technical standards and best practices
- Participate in technical discussions and decision-making processes
- 4-5 years of hands-on software development experience
- 2-3 years of technical team management experience
- Proven track record of leading remote/distributed teams
- Strong understanding of Kanban methodologies and practices
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Outstanding communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Experience with support ticket management and escalation processes
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across different time zones
- Strong track record in stakeholder management and relationship building
- 3-5 years of software engineering experience with:
- Java development (ideally servlets and JSPs)
- JavaScript
- MySQL and complex SQL query writing
- AWS experience required, preferably experience with DevOps and container technologies
- Strong understanding of database design principles
- Experience with:
- S3 and on-premises synchronization
- RDS database management
- EC2 instance management
- ECS/Fargate containerization
- Linux server administration and bash scripting
- Phone screening
- Behavioral interview
- Client interview
