The Opportunity
Our client in the energy sector is seeking an experienced Test Manager to join their growing team on an initial 6-month contract, with the potential to extend or transition into a permanent role.
Starting at the end of January, this role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team of 8 (expanding to 13) in a highly technical and corporate environment, driving improvements in process management, strategy, and delivery.
The Role
As a Test Manager you will be responsible for leading, managing and mentoring a team of subject matter experts (SMEs) in testing and system integration. Your other responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing testing strategies and delivery plans for corporate systems, metering, and business processes.
- Driving process management improvements, risk mitigation, and governance frameworks.
- Working closely with program managers and project managers in a primarily waterfall environment.
- Be hands-on with manual testing while setting the groundwork for automation.
- Planning, documenting, and executing technical and functional testing in a system integration-focused environment.
About You
In order to be a successful applicant you will have proven experience as a Test Manager, with strong technical expertise in system integration and corporate technology. You will also have:
- Extensive experience in the energy/utilities sector.
- A hands-on approach to testing, coupled with leadership and people management skills.
- Strong background in process improvement, risk management, and governance.
- Experience in planning, documentation, and test strategy development in a waterfall delivery environment.
- Skilled in both manual testing and leading automation initiatives.
- Confident and proactive, not a “yes person,” with a drive to challenge and improve existing processes.
