Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Fashion or Graphic Designer to join our team and support the creative department at a retail company based in the US. In this role, you will work with Sr. Graphic Designer to create seasonal, brand-appropriate prints and draws for the lingerie and loungewear collections. Also, you will create, visualize, and execute seasonal original licensed prints from the initial along with presentations for the sales department.
It is required to have a strong portfolio showcasing your design skills, creativity, understanding of pattern making, and experience with license. (Link to online portfolio required)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion or Graphic Design with at least 5+ years’ experience in the fashion industry working with prints, repeats, and licenses.
- Prior experience with licenses and licensed apparel.
- Prior experience with loungewear or intimates.
- Strong understanding of local and repeated print constructions and processes.
- Strong Illustrator skills and experience with technical draws.
- Solid understanding of design principles, color theory, and layout composition.
- Ability to work independently and remain flexible, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, shifting focus as needed to meet business priorities.
- Knowledge and interest in pop culture, music, TV shows and movies, and cartoons is a plus.
- Packaging knowledge.
- Tech pack knowledge.
- Previous experience working B2B, with startup companies and American clients.
- Professional English Level.
Responsibilities
- Identify print trends and creatively incorporate them into licensed and non-licensed commercials that are feasible for producing apparel products.
- Develop creative and visually appealing prints for intimates and loungewear collections, including original seasonal licensed prints/screen artwork that stands out from the competition.
- Create intricate print and artwork for garment production in Adobe Illustrator.
- Create and/or edit photos of the products in Adobe Photoshop to showcase the collection.
- Collaborate closely with the designer and product development teams, and other stakeholders to ensure design consistency and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of pattern repeatability and production limitations.
- Work effectively with licensed product artwork, ensuring brand and copyright compliance.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet tight deadlines.
- Work independently and take initiative, while also being a strong team player.
- Develop packaging designs that complement the overall brand aesthetic.
- Create tech packs for garment or print production.
Technical Knowledge & Hard Skills
- Proficiency in design software: Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Should be able to use these tools to create high-quality images, illustrations, draws, and other graphic elements.
- Creativity: come up with new and original ideas for the designs. Be able to think outside the box and come up with fresh perspectives on different licensed artworks.
- Strong understanding of design principles: strong knowledge of design principles, such as composition, color theory, and typography, and use these principles to create visually appealing and practical designs.
- Research skills: research trends, licenses, buyers, and competitors to gather data to create a well-informed design. Should be able to identify problems, brainstorm solutions, and implement the best solution.
- Stay up-to-date on trends: be able to identify and incorporate trends into the work in a way that is both creative and commercial.
- General knowledge of apparel manufacturing: know fabric types, printing techniques, and construction methods to create feasible designs that can be accurately translated into production.
- Strong communication skills: clearly and concisely sketch and concept their ideas to communicate their vision to clients and collaborators.
- Print and illustration skills: strong sketching and illustration skills and technical print knowledge, including print techniques and rotary repeats.
Main Tools to Manage During Work Relation
- Must be proficient in the following industry standard programs: Dropbox, Teams, Trello, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Hubstaff: Web App and Desktop App
