The Translations Lead facilitates the delivery of translations deliverables including eCOA, text translations, subtitling, voiceover, and linguistically validated translations for assigned data quality projects. S/he will assume oversight of select projects as assigned, mostly high complexity projects. Will also be actively involved in localization services design, effectively participating also in bidding phase and project scoping. Acts as Vendor Manager for the 3rd party Translation Vendors assigned and is a Sponsor-facing role. This role is expected to work closely with US based teams and customers, therefore overlapping with US East Coast schedule is critical.

As part of our team, your main responsibilities will:

• Execute translation and production requirements for subtitling, document translation and voice-over projects, ensuring on-time delivery and high quality standards
• Raise quotes, POs, confirm invoices as per internal processes
• Engage with, coordinate and communicate with translation vendors regarding project status and logistics. Act as Vendor Manager over the performance of the 3rd party Translations Vendors assigned.
• Coordinate the Clinical Resource review of required translations
• Actively participate in project scoping (since bid phase where the case) and act as internal resource pool manager. Acts across business functions related to project scope definition, opportunities identification and run improvement initiatives.
• Perform QC activities (document formatting, back-translation review, etc.) for assigned translation projects
• Input translation information into proprietary scale information repository
• Work with Director Localisation to develop and implement/improve processes
• Prepare project status reports including weekly/monthly metrics for manager and department reporting
• Acts as resource pool manager inside the team and as coordinator of the efforts of personnel responsible for the day-to-day activities for delivery of translations projects (e.g., Sr. Translations Associate, Translations Associate)

DECISION MAKING AND INFLUENCE

The Translations Lead will coordinate the language services for high complexity projects and will streamline work with Translation Vendors, agreeing on quotes and creating Purchase Orders.

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

• Two to three years managing pharmaceutical industry translation processes and methodologies (e.g., linguistic and psychometric validation methodologies)
• At least three years of professional business experience.
• BA degree preferred (language, linguistics, English, or translation) and 1-2 years’ experience OR MA degree preferred (language, linguistics, English, or translation) and 0-1 years’ experience
• Excellent organizational skills; at least one year translation coordination experience
• Excellent Microsoft Word and Excel skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects at once in deadline-sensitive environment
• Great business communication and writing skills, customer service oriented
• Fluent in English
