Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is one of the largest privately-held architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast.
GMC is looking for a Transportation Project Manager with 7+ years of experience to join our team in Lexington, KY.
FOUNDATIONAL
- Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the firm’s values and standards for project delivery and client management.
- Expresses a keen understanding of the industry standards of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and Federal Highway Administration
- Experience with Kentucky Department of Aviation (KDA) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is a plus.
- Demonstrates the leadership required for effective team contributions to the firm’s success including contributions to firm standards and employee development.
- Capable of managing multiple projects while maintaining quality control and assurance measures per GMC’s standards and requirements.
TECHNICAL
- Applies extensive diversified knowledge of Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. FAA and KDA knowledge a plus.
- Builds client relationships and assist with specific client development using technical expertise.
- Responsible for accuracy of technical aspects of projects.

COMMUNICATION
- Coordinate the work of assigned team members on multiple projects.
- Communicate with, reviews work and coordinates efforts of other project team members.
- Provides guidance relating to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts and policy matters; also receives direction on unusual conditions and developments.

LEADERSHIP
- Responsible for financial goals, marketing plan and project/client development.
- Responsible for all aspects of project management- development, design, bidding, construction, and closeout.
- Responsible for enforcement of project delivery standards including technical and procedural.
- Develops, approves, and conducts professional training as requested.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or an engineering-related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Kentucky is required (or the ability to acquire in 6 months)

Minimum of 7 years of experience with:
- Transportation and/or Aviation civil engineering experience
- Road and/or Airport related projects
- Experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Experience with Microstation Design platforms particularly Open Roads
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Ability to prepare and maintain records, prepare reports, documents and correspondence related to the work.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Valid driver’s license as occasional travel is required, often driving to project sites located outdoors
- Strong knowledge of Kentucky Transportation Cabinet design and grant process
- Knowledge of KDA and FAA design and grant process a plus
