We’re currently looking for a Tree Works Estimator as our top priority, but we’re also open to considering skilled climbers who are keen to take on estimating responsibilities or blend both aspects of the job. Whether you want a purely estimating role or a mix of both estimating and climbing, we can offer flexibility to suit your preferences.

About the Role:

As a Tree Works Estimator, your primary responsibility will be assessing tree care projects, providing accurate and competitive cost estimates, and ensuring efficient project execution. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in estimating tree works. However, for those with climbing experience who still want to be hands-on, we are happy to offer the opportunity to incorporate climbing into your role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Site Visits & Assessment: Conduct on-site assessments to evaluate tree health, safety risks, and the scope of work. Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and expectations.
• Cost Estimation: Provide accurate, detailed estimates for tree care services, considering labor, equipment, materials, and permits. Strive for competitive pricing while maintaining project profitability.
• Proposal Development: Prepare professional proposals outlining project details, timelines, and costs. Address client inquiries and ensure clarity in communication.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the operations manager, admin team, and crew to coordinate schedules, project timelines, and logistics.
• Client Relationship Management: Foster positive relationships with clients, ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction.
• Flexible Work: For those with climbing experience, continue working in the field while managing estimates, or take on climbing as part of the role.
• Staff Training & Knowledge Sharing: Share your industry knowledge with new employees, offering guidance and support as they develop their skills in the field.

About You:

• Skill set: A competent climber, enthusiastic about tree work and knowledgeable in the industry. 
• Qualifications: AQF Level 3 and Level 5 in Arboriculture (or equivalent) is highly regarded. 
• Licenses: A Heavy Vehicle License is a bonus. Manual driver’s license or willing to obtain. 
• Communication Skills: Strong communication skills for dealing with clients and coordinating with the team.
• Leadership & Teamwork: Comfortable working alongside the operations manager, admin staff, and crew. Previous experience in managing or mentoring staff is preferred.
• Flexibility: We offer full-time or part-time hours (3 days per week), with flexibility to accommodate personal commitments. For climbers, we also offer the option to continue doing tree work alongside estimating duties.
