Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate a geographically dispersed team of engineers.
  • Exhibit hands-on leadership to instill sound engineering practices.
  • Effectively plan, estimate, and execute a variety of projects.
  • Collaborate closely with product management to formulate the vision and strategy for our platform.
  • Propel the adoption of cutting-edge software development methodologies.
  • Cultivate excellent engineering and organizational practices.
  • Foster a collaborative engineering culture that aligns with our core values.
  • Partner with cross-functional leadership teams to ensure product architecture and roadmaps are in alignment.
  • Work remotely while participating in biannual in-person sprints, typically held in distinctive global locations.

Required Skills

  • Extensive experience with Linux distributions and packaging technologies such as deb and rpm.
  • A proven history of managing or leading software engineering teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux system architecture and boot processes, as well as programming toolchains like Java, GCC, Python, Rust, or Go.
  • Familiarity with ARM and/or RISC-V architectures.
  • A robust background in engaging with open-source communities and contributing effectively to their initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in software engineering management.
  • Strong technical foundation in Linux systems and open-source projects.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
