ROLE OVERVIEW 

The UI/UX Designer will be responsible for shaping the user experience, visual identity, and usability of our crypto self-custodial wallet and other products. This role requires a deep understanding of user-centred design principles, excellent graphic design skills, and an in-depth knowledge of the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry. 

This role is remote with a preference for applicants based in Canada and in the Eastern Time Zone (ET). 

Reporting to the VP of Product, the UI/UX Designer will be responsible for the following duties and obligations:  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Oversee the end-to-end design process and implementation for our crypto self-custodial wallet, including wireframes, high-fidelity mock-ups, prototypes, and final product delivery. 
• Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and marketing teams to create intuitive, user-friendly designs. 
• Conduct user research and usability testing to gather user feedback, analyze user behaviour, and validate design decisions. 
• Translate complex product requirements into intuitive and functional user interfaces. 
• Maintain consistency in visual elements and define behaviours such as displaying error or warning states. 
• Maintain close collaboration with the executive team to ensure project alignment with strategic objectives. 
• Stay updated with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies in the crypto and blockchain space. 
• Deliver detailed design specifications and work closely with developers to ensure accurate implementation. 
• Generate, collaborate on, and refine user flows, prototypes, and visually polished designs. 
• Design and release product enhancements of exceptional quality. Develop and enhance a compelling narrative highlighting the product’s requirements and potential opportunities. 

CANDIDATE PROFILE 

• 3+ years of experience as a UI/UX Designer, ideally with experience in the blockchain or financial technology sectors as well as hands-on experience with blockchain technology and a solid understanding of cryptocurrencies. 
• Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, HCI, or a related professional experience. 
• Proven UI design portfolio demonstrating your skills and a track record of successful product designs. 
• Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction. 
• Experience in conducting user research and usability testing. 
• Expert in design software such as Figma. 
• Up-to-date knowledge of the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies. 
• Possess the ability to work autonomously, taking ideas from initial exploration to completion while also valuing constructive feedback loops for your concepts. 
• Experience working in an agile/scrum development process. 
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or other relevant coding languages, bonus points for experience with Flutter.  
• Strong written and verbal communication skills 
• Team player with a positive attitude 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
