We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Director of Operations Optimization & Innovation to lead and execute strategic initiatives focused on optimizing warehouse and transportation operations, driving continuous improvement (CI) programs, overseeing the WMS system migration, implementing automation solutions, managing warehouse capacity, and handling Request for Proposal (RFP) responses. This role requires a deep understanding of operational excellence, supply chain technologies, transportation optimization, and process optimization

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Optimization:

Lead and implement strategies to optimize warehouse and supply chain operations for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and scalability.
Continuously analyze processes, identify bottlenecks, and recommend innovative solutions to improve performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align operational goals with business objectives.

Continuous Improvement (CI) Program:

Develop and drive a comprehensive continuous improvement program, utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, or other industry best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
Lead teams in process reengineering, identifying and eliminating waste, and improving overall productivity.

WMS System Migration & Optimization:

Collaborate with cross functional teams ensuring a seamless transition from legacy systems to new platforms.
Development of a roadmap for WMS enhancements to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Coordinate with IT, operations, and other stakeholders to ensure system requirements, testing, and training are effectively managed.

Automation:

Spearhead the identification and implementation of automation solutions within the warehouse and logistics environment to increase throughput, reduce errors, and improve safety.
Stay informed on emerging automation technologies and assess their potential for integration into existing operations.

Transportation Optimization:

Analyze transportation network performance data to identify opportunities for cost savings and improved service levels in alignment with RFP requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proposed transportation solutions meet client needs and align with organizational objectives.

RFP Solution Design:

Lead and manage the creation of detailed and compelling RFP responses, including operational, logistical, transportation, and technical elements.
Design RFP solutions that meet client specifications while leveraging best practices for supply chain and transportation management.
Analyze current warehouse capacity and identify strategies to optimize storage, streamline workflows, and accommodate growth.
Manage forecasting and planning efforts to ensure warehouse capacity aligns with demand.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure all responses align with company capabilities, customer expectations, and industry standards.

Client Onboarding:

Oversee the client onboarding process, ensuring a seamless transition from proposal to implementation.
Coordinate with internal teams to integrate transportation strategies, systems, and solutions for new clients.
Provide guidance and support during the initial stages of the client relationship, ensuring that client expectations are met and operational goals are established.
Ensure smooth communication and coordination across all teams involved in client onboarding to facilitate timely and effective project delivery.

Key Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, or a related field. MBA preferred.
8+ years of experience in operations management, warehouse optimization, transportation, or supply chain roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
Strong experience in warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), automation solutions, and system migrations.
Proven track record in managing and leading CI programs and process improvement initiatives.
Experience in transportation optimization, including route planning, cost reduction, and service improvements.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Familiarity with RFP processes and the ability to create impactful proposals and solution designs.
Lean Six Sigma certification or similar continuous improvement certifications preferred.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with industry-leading WMS and TMS platforms (e.g., SAP, Manhattan, Oracle).
Knowledge of automation technologies such as robotics, conveyor systems, and AI-powered solutions.
Expertise in industrial engineering, warehouse design, capacity planning, and transportation network design.
