About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Part-Time Web Developer/Designer to join our small, collaborative team. The ideal candidate will have a balance of front-end and back-end development skills, a strong understanding of UI/UX principles, and the ability to perform technical SEO improvements. This role requires someone who is confident in maintaining and creating websites while ensuring mobile responsiveness and cross-browser compatibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Front-End Development: Create and optimize user-friendly websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and other relevant technologies.
- Back-End Development: Manage and develop website functionality using PHP, MySQL, and other backend technologies.
- UI/UX Design: Implement intuitive design solutions using Figma to enhance user experience.
- Website Maintenance: Perform updates and troubleshoot issues on existing websites.
- Technical SEO Improvements: Implement schema markup and other technical SEO updates to improve website visibility.
- Mobile Responsiveness: Ensure all websites function across various devices and screen sizes.
- Content Updates: Occasionally update content as required.
- Client Interaction: Communicate with clients via email and occasional meetings regarding project updates or feedback.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting for cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with platforms like WordPress, Shopify, Magento, and other CMS/eCommerce platforms.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, and jQuery.
- Familiarity with technical SEO and schema improvements.
- Experience with Figma for UI/UX design.
- Ability to manage cross-browser compatibility, including legacy browsers.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Project management skills, though not essential, would be a plus.
Requirements:
- All levels of experience considered with a portfolio of previous web projects.
- Agency experience is preferred but not essential.
- Skilled in technical SEO improvements and mobile-responsive design.
- Comfortable working remotely and interacting with clients via email and occasional meetings.
