Web Solutions Engineer (Remote)

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Web Solutions Engineer to join our dynamic team of Site Reliability Engineers. The ideal candidate will have expertise in building, deploying and maintaining WordPress Websites at scale. This role demands strong automation and scripting capabilities, along with experience in monitoring and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Manage, monitor, and optimize WordPress based applications ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability of services.

·       WordPress Maintenance: Perform routine WordPress Core, PHP and Plugin updates to ensure deployments are maintained at high standards.

·       Scripting & Automation: Automate management tasks using scripting languages such as Python, Go, Bash, or similar, to streamline deployment and operational processes.

·       Monitoring & Logging: Implement and manage monitoring and logging tools such as Nagios and Grafana to ensure visibility into system performance and health.

·       Troubleshooting & Incident Management: Troubleshoot WordPress Core, Plugins, and related services deployed as part of the environment. Proactively resolve issues to minimize downtime.

·       Database & Networking: Manage and troubleshoot Cloud SQL databases and handle network configuration and management to ensure efficient communication between services.

·       CI/CD Pipeline Management: Manage and enhance CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions. Ensure smooth code deployment processes and enable continuous integration and delivery.

·       Collaboration & Problem-Solving: Work closely with related teams to identify and resolve application issues. Use strong problem-solving skills to debug and mitigate issues in production.

·       Upstream Maintenance and version control: Manage and maintain upstream ensuring efficient and scalable updates across all environments. Manage the version control ensuring proper testing, validation and rollout of updates without impacting site operations.

Qualifications:

·       Proven experience with managing WordPress websites as a service.

·       Expert level proficiency of the PHP programing language.

·       Knowledgeable in scripting and automation using Python, Go or Bash.

·       Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Nagios.

·       Solid understanding of database management (MySQL) and networking fundamentals.

·       Experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly using GitHub Actions and strong knowledge of Git.

·       Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, particularly in diagnosing issues and conflicts with WordPress core and related plug-in components.

 Eligibilty criteria – Minimum 5 years of work exp in the same field
