We’re seeking an experienced writer and editor to help us tell these stories, and work with our team to develop ongoing relationships with our customers. As an essential part of our Global Customer Advocacy team, you’ll write case studies, produce content and work on projects to help promote Cloudera’s global customers. Data and analytics teams at over a thousand enterprises in one hundred countries rely on our software, and regularly expand to new use cases. Help us tell their stories.
The ideal candidate has direct experience as a reporter or editor in a fast-paced news setting. Experience covering technology and business is a plus. Strong communication, writing and editing skills are critical. Experience with other content formats is a plus, as well as interest in learning custom AI tools.
Candidates must be able to quickly learn about a variety of industries, understand the data/analytics reader audience, gain a working knowledge of new technical concepts, conduct effective interviews and produce impactful content. Content will appear in a variety of marketing channels, including our corporate website, blogs, social media, sales decks, marketing content, events and external publications.
You’ll be a core part of a small, highly motivated team within product marketing, working on a variety of customer projects. Expect to collaborate often across the organization, working with global customers, agencies, and internal teams from field, sales, technical teams.
As a Writer and Editor, Customer Advocacy you will:
- Write and edit case studies, content and news on Cloudera’s global customers, highlighting business impact and value from data, analytics and AI.
- Follow style guides, content templates, messaging and boilerplates. Work with cross-functional teams to track and accelerate content approvals.
- Collaborate with global customer advocacy leads, international agencies, internal teams (marketing, sales, engineering, events and more).
- Help support a variety of customer-focused marketing activities, including video, webinars, events and other projects.
- Stay up to date on products and messaging, participate in internal trainings, recommending changes that increase our impact.
We’re excited about you if you have:
- Must be available to work Eastern Time business hours, flexible for early/late meetings with global teams.
- 4+ years of experience as a news/business reporter, technology journalist, writer, editor or similar role.
- Experience and skills to write and edit customer-focused content, on deadline, from interview to approvals to publishing.
- Ability to quickly learn new technical concepts and terms. Strong organizational skills, able to learn internal systems and processes.
- Exceptional organizational and communications, able to interact with a global audience, manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
- Open to occasional travel to support customer interviews, up to 15%.
- Must be able to provide writing samples.
You may also have:
- BA/BS or equivalent work experience. English fluency required, additional languages a plus.
- Interest or background in data and analytics technology, especially big data, analytics, machine learning, AI.
- Background in business reporting is a plus.
- Great storytelling skills, verbal and written – and experience translating great stories into many different formats.
- Strong interpersonal skills, understanding of enterprise processes, ability to develop great working relationships throughout the organization.
