Are you an experienced Service Desk superstar looking to take your career to the next level? Christchurch City Council are seeking 2 x Service Desk Technical Analysts on a permanent basis. - Answer incoming calls, respond to email, walk-in, and web requests, log 100% of all requests and classify each call appropriately.
- Analyse and resolve incidents aiming for an on the spot fix, utilising your own skills, remote desktop tools and knowledge-base tools, or, if necessary, escalation to second level support.
- To be effective in recognising high priority and urgent incidents that have the potential to disrupt a significant number of customers or adversely impact public perception of the Council and to ensure they are assigned to the appropriate staff and quickly resolved.
- Ensure requests are answered in a timely manner and meet the performance expectations set.
About you | Ko Koe Tēnei
With at least two years’ Helpdesk/Service Desk experience supporting hardware and software in a large organisation, you’ll also hold a relevant qualification in IT or Computer Science related discipline with a high level of technical skills and experience to troubleshoot and resolve issues within tight timeframes.
Engaging with all levels of the business, you’ll be able to adapt your communication style and delivery method to suit users’ abilities, providing clear and succinct solutions and training where necessary.

Hours of work – Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 5.30pm, 40 hours per week
Salary – Competitive salary will be offered
Location – This position is primarily based at Te Hononga Civic Offices, 53 Hereford Street
