ABOUT THE COMPANY

Glaut is an AI-native market research software for large-scale customer research studies to extract qualitative insights at scale. How? We combine the efficiency of a survey with the depth of a 1-to-1 interview, allowing researchers to conduct large quantitative projects with qualitative insights at scale. In practice, Glaut replaces closed-ended questionnaires with personalized, engaging voice-based interviews with thousands of respondents simultaneously.

ABOUT THE JOB

We’re looking for a full-time Senior Software Engineer with strong Python skills and real-time media streams experience to join our team.

You’ll be part of a small, close-knit team of top engineers, working on groundbreaking core product initiatives for our real-time multimedia conversational app.

You’ll have the chance to shape the product from the ground up, with plenty of autonomy and opportunities to learn faster than anywhere else.

Our tech stack includes Python, FastAPI, MongoDB, React, Typescript.

RESPONSIBILITIES

What you’ll do

• System Design: Collaborate with the Tech Lead to architect and implement scalable back-end systems for our real-time multimedia conversational app.
• Media Handling: Develop and optimize systems for real-time media streams, ensuring low latency and high reliability.
• Performance Optimization: Focus on enhancing application speed and scalability to provide a seamless user experience as we grow.
• Scalable Architecture: Design systems capable of handling high loads and resilient to failures.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to define and implement features that delight our users.

REQUIREMENTS

Your Skills

• Python Expertise: Proficient in both back-end and front-end development. Strong in Python for back-end systems, and skilled in React and TypeScript for front-end development.
• Media Experience: You’ve worked with real-time media streams and know how to handle both the ins and outs.
• Scalable Systems: Experience in designing architectures that handle high traffic and large data volumes.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiar with asynchronous programming, concurrency, and complex data structures.
• Work across the stack: Able to work on the frontend too when needed; familiar with React and TypeScript
• Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills and a knack for creative solutions.

Bonus Points

• Experience with AWS and deploying scalable applications.
• Familiarity with non-relational databases (e.g., MongoDB).
• You played around a lot with gen-AI tools.

BENEFITS

Salary: The estimated base salary range for this role is between $36k and $56k. Remuneration is determined by several factors, including years of relevant experience, expertise and unique skills, and location.

This is a full-remote position and we will consider candidates from anywhere. However, we have a preference for candidates from Italy since we tend to meet in person frequently in Milan.
