We are looking for the crème de la crème of Machine Learning. The Senior Machine Learning Engineer is a key member of the team, reporting to a Lead Machine Learning Engineer. This role relies on machine learning to power systems and solutions with the goal of saving lives.
The ideal team member will have strong data background, accompanied with mathematical and statistical expertise. As you analyse and interpret data, we will depend on you to ask questions, connect the dots, and uncover hidden opportunities, all with the ultimate goal of realizing the data’s full potential. You will collaborate with a team of data engineers, scientists and ML experts, creating innovative solutions for the future.
Career Path
A Senior Machine Engineer may progress to become a Lead ML Engineer.
Alternatively, a lateral progression to Senior Software Engineer is possible with subsequent progression to Lead Machine Learning Engineer.
Role:
Interpret project goals and requirements to develop detailed designs for ML algorithms and their integration into larger data systems and products.
Experiment to improve and extend core Engineering & AI capabilities, adapting and refining algorithms and machine learning models.
Deploy models into production by collaborating with software engineers.
Implement improvements as needed to operational and internal tools & systems, including software development where required.
Communication & Collaboration:
Thoroughly document the results and conclusions of experiments and data analysis and communicate them to stakeholders.
Collaborate with other members of the team, including other solution areas and technical domains, to share insights, practices, and data that can influence decisions.
Estimate effort required for projects and tasks, in support of planning and project management.
Develop new capabilities within the team, ranging from engineering patterns to example code to formal training materials.
Data Management:
Identify data sources relevant to client business needs.
Collect and curate large datasets, providing appropriate guidelines for their annotation and quality control.
Analyze data for trends and patterns and interpret them with a clear objective in mind.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or numerate scientific discipline.
5+ years of industry experience in data engineering, science or machine learning with expertise in a diverse range of ML methods, underpinned by their statistical fundamentals.
An exceptional communicator who can:
Maintain flow of necessary technical detail within geographically dispersed, diverse, and virtual teams.
Communicate to senior decision makers in a clear, compelling way.
Drive decisive action in partnership with others.
Comfort working in a dynamic, application-oriented group contributing to all stages of a project’s life cycle.
Technical Skills:
Strong coding proficiency in Python backed with MLOps experience.
Familiarity with using cloud platforms (at least one of AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Machine Learning frameworks (at least one of PyTorch or TensorFlow).
Data Visualization libraries.
Experience working with image data and modern CNN architectures.
C# and/or C++ programming experience.
Familiarity with software engineering tools for version control.
Command line Linux and shell scripting proficiency.
