"Once upon a time, there was a girl growing up in Costa Rica who thought she had all her life carefully planned. Her plans went through pretty smoothly, in general terms, but when she turned 33 she realized 2 things: she wasn't really in love with her career(at least not in a traditional way), and she found out that she needed more freedom, independence and time to fufill her dreams and passions."
This is the beginning of my story. After this realization, I've been working towards developing my skills in order to land remote/freelance work that allows me to travel and spend time with my family and loved ones. My experience has been pretty varied: from journalism and editing jobs, to internal communications, to HR customer service, and finally to instructional design/development, which has been my occupation for the last 2 years.
Though I am still in the 9-5 grind, I am confident that I will switch soon to the DN lifestyle. One lesson that life taught me a while ago, when my dad passed away, was that life is really short and you got to live it to your fullest potential, otherwise you are only existing. I forgot that lesson for a few years, but now I am truly embracing it ?
